James Folsom, 74, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. James was born May 15, 1938 in Grady County to the late William Lawrence Folsom and the late Effie Lee Collins Folsom. He was a member of Baxley Holiness Church. Folsom was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Rilene Tomberlin Folsom of Baxley; one son and daughter-in-law, Woody and Tamela Folsom of Baxley; two grandchildren, Tanner Folsom and Anna Kate Folsom and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 from the Baxley Holiness Church. Pastor Danny Tomberlin, Pastor Robbie Tomberlin, the Rev. Rick Brown, the Rev. Keith Alderman and the Rev. Jerry Tomberlin officiated. Interment followed in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Danny Varnadoe, Donnie Head, Jessie Murray, Jerome Murray, Riley McDonald, Eddie Rentz, Jerry Ray Tomberlin and Sean Strickland.
Honorary pallbearers were employees of Woody Folsom Automotive, Woody Folsom Ford, Woody Folsom Nissan of Vidalia and Circle F. Farms.
Musical selections were rendered by Robbie Tomberlin, Mickey Tomberlin and Eddie Tomberlin.
