Lorine Kent-Durden
Mrs. Lorine Kent-Durden died Feb. 13, 2013. Lorine was born in Baxley on July 30, 1942. She received her education in the Appling County School System and joined Pine View Baptist Church at an early age. Lorine was a floral designer by profession. Her first husband, Curtis Thomas, preceded her in death and later her second husband, Chaney Durden.
Survivors include three children, Patricia Kent Richardson of Albany, Curtis Leon Thomas (Corona) of Albany and Michael Erbin Thomas of Valdosta; two sisters, Edna Mae Henry of Baxley and Margaret “Margie” McDuffie (Conrad) of Albany; four brothers, Carl Kent (Peggy) of Hartford, CO, James Kent, Eddie Dent, both of Baxley and John Dent (Sally) of Walthourville; three grandchildren, Somika Richardson Carr (Tyrone) of Okinawa, Japan, Jasmine Richardson Burton (Orson) of Mount Vernon, NY and Kevin Bradley of Albany; four great-grandchildren, Shermond White, Shamiyah Carr, both of Okinawa, Japan, Kayson Bradley and Kristopher Bradley, both of Albany; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17 at Pine View Baptist Church with the Rev. Lucious Rogers officiating. Interment followed in Miles Chapel Cemetery in Baxley.
Active pallbearers were nephews and cousins.
Musical selections were rendered by Kathy Ferguson and Cynthia Barney.
Arrangements were under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
