Thelma Dykes, 97, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013. Mrs. Dykes was born Oct. 5, 1915 in Pulaski County to the late Joseph Henry Fowler and the late Martha Melinda Tatum Fowler. She was a member of Zion Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Elmer Dykes and a son, Jack Dykes.
Survivors include one daughter, Gail Dykes Perry and husband, Vanzel of Surrency; one daughter-in-law, Jean Dykes Griffis and husband, Colvin of Baxley; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Thelma Dykes were held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 from Zion Church of God with the Revs. R. M. Warren, Eugene Evors and Lamar Lee officiating. Interment followed in Zion Church of God Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Mike Dykes, Gary Dykes, Jeff Dykes, Ryan Perry, Bryan Perry and Chris Corbitt.
Honorary pallbearers were staff of the Pavilion and all friends in attendance.
Musical selections were rendered by Sheila Kennedy and James Herrin.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
