Jan. 24, answered a call to County Farm Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated her boyfriend had made threats, did damage to her vehicle, took her money and hit her. The boyfriend had left the residence before officer arrived.
Jan. 26, answered a call to Branch Road in reference to an unruly juvenile. The mother and father has problems with their son, rebelling, and made suicide threats against himself. The juvenile was taken to Appling ER for mental and physical evaluation.
Jan. 26, answered a call to Brown Street in reference to theft/damage to property. A complainant stated it looked as though someone had tried to start a fire next to the siding of his house, and did damage to siding. Also found was a window that had been shot with what appeared to be a BB gun. Missing from complainant’s shed is a weedeater.
Jan. 27, answered a call to Golden Isles West in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated that an unknown subject drove by his residence and threw an object through the window of his residence breaking the window. The make and color of the vehicle was noted. Investigation continues.
Jan. 27, answered a call to Golden Isles West in reference to a domestic dispute. A brother and a sister had an altercation. The brother left the residence to resolve the problem.
Jan. 27, answered a call to King Drive in reference to a theft. The complainant stated that unknown person(s) had taken his 1993 Chevrolet Astro Vann that was parked behind his shed and the vehicle would not run. Also answered a call to Memphis Crosby Road in reference to four vehicles being stolen. Investigation revealed vehicles were taken to metal recycling facilities in Alma and Hazlehurst for scrap metal. Warrants have been secured for the arrest of Clint Crapps, of Baxley, and Paul Bennett, of Denton. Crapps has been charged with one count felony theft by taking and two counts misdemeanor theft by taking. Bennett has been charged with one count misdemeanor theft by taking.
Jan. 28, a complainant came to the Appling Co. Sheriff’s Office to report threats. The complainant stated her son has been threatened by a bus driver. The complainant stated she has taken the problem to the Appling County School System.
Jan. 28, answered a call to Gardenia Circle in reference to an attempted suicide. A juvenile was found to possibly be attempting suicide. The juvenile was transported to Appling ER for evaluation.
Jan. 28, a complainant came to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office to report a child abuse. The complainant stated she found bruises on her son after returning from his father’s residence for his weekend visitation. The DFACS was notified and investigation continues.
Jan. 28, answered a call to Red Oak Road in reference to a theft. The complainant stated her Yamaha Big Bear four-wheeler was stolen from her residence. Investigation continues.
Jan. 28, the Appling County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Baxley Police Department in reference to an assist on marijuana being discovered at a residence in the city. Investigation continues.
Jan. 29, answered a call to Nails Ferry Road in reference to a domestic dispute a husband and a wife had an altercation. The wife left the residence with the children to prevent further incident.
Jan. 29, answered a call to Branch Road in reference to an unstable subject. The subject was found to be high on narcotics and was transported to Appling ER to be evaluated.
Jan. 29, answered a call to Corinth Cemetery Church Road in reference to a burglary. A complainant found the door to Mount Olive Church kicked open and monies from offering plate were taken. Investigation continues.
Jan. 30, answered a call to Brenda Kaye Yawn Road in reference to a vehicle fire. The driver of the vehicle stated he went inside the residence to pick up his child and when returning to his vehicle it was on fire. The driver was able to put the fire out with water.
Jan. 30, answered a call to Appling Christian Academy in reference to a burglary. A window was busted to gain entry to the building. Nothing appeared to be missing at time of report.
Jan. 31, answered a call to Williams Lane in reference to a theft. The complainant stated she had two guests in her home and while away they took her jewelry valued at approximately $3,500.00. Investigation revealed jewelry was pawned at a local pawnshop in Hazlehurst. Warrants have been secured for the arrest of Damon Corey Strickland, of Hazlehurst, and Andi Isaac Breedlove, of Hazlehurst. Both are charged with theft by taking.
