John Yeomans selected as STAR Student for ACA

John Ross Yeomans was announced as the 2013 Professional Association of Georgia Educators’ STAR Student Award for Appling Christian Academy. Principal Jerome Granade presented the award to Yeomans at the Baxley-Appling County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting held on January 29.

Yeomans selected Melanie Claxton as his STAR Teacher. The STAR program, now in its 55th year, has honored more than 23,500 students and teachers that have been selected as having had the most influence on a school’s academic success. To receive the award students must have the highest score on a single test date on the three-part SAT and be in the top 10 percent of their class based on grade-point average.
