Herman Grady Murray
Herman Grady Murray, 66, of Odum, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Murray was born Jan. 20, 1947 to the late Willard Grady Murray and the late Lorraine Lightsey Murray. He was a member of Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Murray was a general contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Cabarles Murray of Tabasco, Mexico; one daughter, Susan Boyd of Collierville, TN; two sons, Herman Russell Murray of Bristol and Grady Murray of Odum; three sisters, Gracie “Van” Veldhuizen of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, Geraldine Nail and Annette McTier, both of Augusta; one brother, Wilbur Murray of Odum; and a special friend, Carolyn Murray of Baxley.
Funeral services for Herman Grady Murray were held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 from Swain Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jerry Lightsey and the Rev. George Moxley officiating.
Interment followed in Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Wayne County.
Active pallbearers were Freddy Murray, Robert Swails, Bo Herndon, Willard Lightsey, John Connor and Kevin Laird.
Musical selections were rendered by Amy Hall.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
