Sheriff Benny Deloach reports on January 8 a father came to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office to report his children had not returned from a visit with their mother, after the judge had instructed the mother to return the children by 8:00 p.m. that day. A lookout was given to South Carolina authorities providing a full description of the children, mother and vehicle they were traveling in. Also obtained were two kidnapping warrants for Patricia Michelle Moon. On January 9 Moon, 34, of South Carolina, was arrested in South Carolina and charged with kidnapping. The children have been safely returned to their father.
Other incidents
On Jan. 6, answered a call to Sandy Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A husband and a wife had a verbal dispute. The husband was taken to Appling ER for evaluation.
Jan. 5, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to a child custody dispute. The mother left her child with her grandmother and when returning the grandmother would not let her have her child.
Jan. 5, answered a call to Cleveland Lane in reference to a theft. The complainant stated missing from his residence was a Playstation and several games valued at $600.00. The complainant advised neighbors saw the subject that entered the residence. Investigation continues.
Jan. 5, answered a call to V.P. Lynch Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated his girlfriend damaged his property and refused to leave. Amber Cathlene Morton, 24, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Jan. 5, answered a call to Metts Road/Bristol in reference to an unruly juvenile. The grandmother stated she is having problems with her grandson. Juvenile Justice was notified and the unruly juvenile was removed from the residence and sent to YDC.
Jan. 6, answered a call to Williams Drive in reference to a dog dispute. A complainant stated her neighbor’s dog had attacked her puppy. The neighbor stated it was not his dog and the complainant could get the dog.
Jan. 7, answered a call to Veal Camp Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A girlfriend and a boyfriend stated they had a verbal dispute and they had worked out their problem.
Jan. 7, answered a call to Ben Carter Road in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated unknown person(s) had kicked the front door open to the residence entered and took two T.V.’s valued at $400.00. Investigation continues.
Jan. 7, answered a call to Piney Grove Church Road in reference to a burglary, where it was discovered that a utility building and been broken into and several items were taken. Investigation continues.
Jan. 9, answered a call to Golden Isles East in Surrency in reference to a theft. Security personnel found that an employee had taken money from Parker’s Store. After an investigation Janice Elaine Gay, 41, of Surrency, was arrested and charged with theft by taking.
Jan. 10, answered a call to Lamar Black/Memphis Crosby Road in reference to trespassing/poachers. The complainant stated unknown subject(s) was trespassing and hunting ducks on his property.
Jan. 10, a routine traffic stop on Highway 341 West resulted in the arrest of Matthew Martin Susemiehl, 21, of Baxley. Susemiehl was charged with possession marijuana less than one ounce.
Jan. 11, answered a call to Eula Courson Road in reference to an unruly subject. The complainant stated a subject that is living at her residence took too much medication and had threatened to burn her house. The Appling EMS was notified and took the subject to Appling ER for evaluation and treatment.
