Am I too simplistic?
Is it me or is this country just clueless? Let me try to put this in terms we can all understand.
This newspaper has a main purpose. This purpose is to print you a quality publication on a weekly basis. Our subscribers expect their newspaper to arrive on a weekly basis, uninterrupted. Of course there are factors that are uncontrollable by this publication, such as the U.S. Postal Service (not to include our local Postal employees as they do a wonderful job), but regardless you pay for a product and expect to receive something in return as promised. Right?
What if we decided to take a break? We’ll just go home for a few days and not publish a newspaper next week. Do you think we’d have some mad customers? The answer to this question is yes.
Do we pay our U.S. Congress and Senators? Of course we do. But do we hold them accountable to do their jobs? Right now taxpaying Americans should be calling, emailing or even going to see our national representatives and demand that they do their jobs. Why? YOUR TAXES ARE ABOUT TO GO UP AND THEY ARE PLAYING PARTISAN GAMES (DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS) INSTEAD OF WORKING HARD TO FIND REAL SOLUTIONS!
If you make $25,000.00 per year you can expect your taxes to increase by $42.00 per month or around $500.00 per year. If you make $45,000.00 per year it will cost you $75.00 per month/$900.00 per year. A person making $65,000.00 per year will see an increase in payroll tax deductions of $108.00 per month/$1,296.00 per year. If you make $85,000.00 per year expect an additional $143.00 per month/$1,716.00 annually deducted.
A new member of Congress makes around $170,000.00 per year roughly. That’s what you (the taxpayer) pay your representative to go to Washington and do the job you elected them to do. Yet we continue to let these guys and gals dictate to us when they are going to work and not work while holding the country hostage to the latest financial catastrophe. Many people believe that Washington and our country are beyond repair. This is still the greatest country in the World; we’ve just let nitwits control us for far too long while we continue to foot the bill. We have got to start holding our elected officials accountable. Get back to Washington and get the job, which we elect and pay you to do, done.
As for the looming Fiscal Cliff, maybe I have too much of a simplistic mindset, but here’s a few novel ideas…CUT SPENDING BY REDUCING THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT, STOP USELESS WASTE, WEAN THOSE THAT ARE CAPABLE OF WORKING OFF GOVERNMENT HANDOUTS, BALANCE A BUDGET (LIKE HARD-WORKING AMERICANS HAVE TO DO EVERY DAY OF THEIR LIVES) AND WE WOULD NOT BE FACING A FISCAL CLIFF AS WELL AS ANOTHER DEBT CEILING INCREASE!
Let’s take a look at the latest insanity coming from Washington. Packaged in the $60.4 billion relief for Hurricane Sandy making its rounds in Congress are several head scratchers. There’s $300 million for a “bailout” for Amtrak, another great government assisted/operated debacle. There’s $150 million set aside for “fishery disasters” including money for Alaska and Mississippi. Did Sandy impact these two states? Man that was a big storm (sarcasm). There’s even $50 million for the National Park Service’s Historic Preservation Fund.
Oh by the way. Our National Debt at this very moment is nearing $16.5 trillion and we have got the nitwits to thank for this who continue to spend us into oblivion and tax us to death.

If this country was equal as it was meant to be we wouldn't have poorest, poorer, poor, half rich,and the very rich. But for too long have the rich control things from their homes on the phone or have parties to bribed the representatives into make sure there is a law that protects them from having to pay their fair share.
As for this tea party I would not vote for them because they are just some rich people that has brain washed some of the poor to believe they aren't the KKK, when we all know that is who is behind them. I feel for the ones that is fooled by them because in the end those few blacks, and poor whites, and the half rich will be put out to be stone by the people when they find out these are the biggest crooks that has this plan to take over our government and by the time those believers realize it they would be in the White House from front to back and no amount of voting will get them out. In other words they are not answer either. We need someone that knows what it to feed a family of 5 off a hand full of rice each week. Our system needs a overhaul in the worst way and the tea party is not the way.
