Wilkie and Dianne Glenn of Fitzgerald are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Leigh Glenn, to Marcus Wayne Shumans, son of Mike and Diane Shumans of Baxley.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Maxine Wilson Snowden of Fitzgerald, Johnnie M. Wilson, Sr. of Lakeland, FL, and the late Sam and Virginia Glenn of Fitzgerald.
The bride to be is a 1997 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. She attended Valdosta State University where she received a Bachelor Degree in Public Relations in 2001 and was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. In 2007, Miss Glenn completed the teaching certification program in Secondary Education Social Studies at Valdosta State University. She is employed with the Appling County School System.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Buddy and Dot Burnham of Macon, the late Wayne Callaway of Macon, and the late Arthur and Muriel Shumans of Baxley.
The prospective groom is a 1999 graduate of Appling County High School. He attended the University of West Georgia where he received a Bachelor Degree in Health Education in 2003. In 2004, Mr. Shumans completed his graduate studies at the University of West Georgia with a Masters Degree in Physical Education. He is employed with the Appling County School System.
The wedding will take place on June 25 at Central United Methodist Church in Fitzgerald, with a reception following at Turkey Creek Dining and Golf. Upon return from their honeymoon the couple will reside in Baxley.
