Dear Editor,
There is so much confusion and disagreement in Washington that it’s hard to understand why we keep voting for the same people to represent all of us. They are acting just like first and second graders arguing over pencil and paper, and it is so embarrassing. Our taxes are supporting them with housing, security – you name it, we are paying for it. It’s time out. We need to think about who we want to represent us in two thousand and fourteen and sixteen. Think about it. They are only concerned about themselves; just like the rich man in Luke 16:19-24.
Change, change, change!!
There needs to be a change in how long an elected official can hold office to represent the people. Two terms or four terms is long enough. The president only has two terms. What about the senators and representatives?
If you don’t want change then you have no reason to complain. We have our chance to speak up: Let’s don’t be like the rich man in Luke chapter 16. He didn’t think clearly, living in luxury, not concerned about others, showing no love, compassion or interest in his fellowman. This scripture applies to all of us.
We can please God by:
1) Sharing a meal with someone who lives alone.
2) Asking ourselves, “What am I doing today for other people?”
3) Not giving up on others. God never gave up on us, (anyone).
4) Going through your house and identifying items that can be a help to someone else, and donating them.
5) Volunteering your time and attention to a needy child in your community.
6) Helping members in the military.
7) Lending a helping hand to a new neighbor and saying a prayer for them.
