Stoney Artemus Hartley
Stoney Artemus Hartley, 69, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 in the Pavilion. Hartley was born April 9, 1943 to the late Daniel Harvey Hartley and the late Mattie Estelle Gordon Hartley. He was a member of Baxley Church of God. Hartley was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Long Hartley and two sisters, Vonice Deen and Pauline Smith.
Survivors include two sisters, Lucille Perry and Bonnell and Gene Doyle, both of Baxley; two brothers, Eddie and Ann Hartley of Lyons and Lamar and Frankie Hartley of Jacksonville, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 from the Baxley Church of God with the Reverends Lamar Lee and David Price officiating. Interment followed in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ned Deen, Kelly Atkinson, Dale Smith, Kevin Atkinson, Randy Doyle, Danny Smith and Bruce Wolfson.
Honorary pallbearers were Life Journey Sunday-School Class of Baxley Church of God and the Pavilion Nursing Staff of Hall C.
Musical selections were rendered by the Baxley Church of God Choir.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
