On Wednesday evening, December 5, the City of Baxley and the Baxley-Appling County Chamber of Commerce hosted the second annual Christmas in the Park at Water Works Park. The event featured the lighting of the City of Baxley’s Christmas Tree, scripture reading, Christmas music, and dance.
Mayor Steve Rigdon gave the welcome and officially lit the City’s Christmas Tree.
Scripture readers were Pastor Ronnie Rentz of First Assembly of God, Ethan Dougherty of St. Thomas Aquinas Episcopal Church, Danita Hayes of First African Baptist, Mike Cleland of Friendship Congregational Christian Church, and Judy Johnson of First Methodist Church. Music was performed by the First Baptist Handbell Choir (above), Ten Mile Baptist Church and the Redeeming Grace Trio, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Hispanic Choir, and members of the First Assembly of God Praise Team. The New Jerusalem Youth Praise Dancers (right) did an outstanding job.
