Robert “Bert” Bragan
Robert “Bert” Bragan, 52, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 in Wayne, Michigan. Bert was born March 20, 1960 in Warwick, Rhode Island. Bragan was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Lamar Bragan, Sr. and two brothers, Thomas Patrick and Timothy Michael Bragan.
Survivors include three sons, Shawn Patrick Bragan and Robert Lee Bragan, both of Oklahoma City, OK and Robert Frank Bragan, Jr. of Baxley; his mother, Patricia June Bragan of Augusta; one sister, Betty June Lewis of Bonifay, Fla.; one brother, Billy Lamar Bragan, Jr. of Baxley; fiancée, Daphne Strom of Baxley; one grandchild; one niece and one nephew also survive.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 16 at 2:00 p.m. from Swain Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. E. Blanton officiating. Interment followed in Beckworth-Swinson Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Duran Beckworth, Jimbo Crapps, Mark Dutro, Earl Beecher, Dewayne Bullard and Arlie McMillan.
Honorary pallbearers were Shawn Bragan, Robert Frank Bragan, Jr., Keith Igou and Robert Lee Bragan.
Musical selections were rendered by E. H. Claxton.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
