Marvin James Pollette, 49, passed away Friday, November 9, at Appling Health Care System after a sudden illness. He was a native and lifelong residence of Appling County and a member of the 1982 Appling County High School graduating class. He loved Nascar Racing and wrestling and was an excellent lawn mower mechanic.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Bobette Pollette of Baxley; a sister, Martha Diana Carter of Baxley; two brothers, Buddy Pollette and wife Michelle of Valdosta and Roger Dale Pollette of Baxley; a grandmother, Mattie Bennett of Baxley; two nieces, Pamela and Ann Carter; three nephews, Christopher and Kewame Pollette and John Barber; a great niece and nephew, Riley and Braxton Pollette and other family members also survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 11, at 2:00 p.m. from the David E. Miles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Rick Brown officiating and music provided by Floyd Hunter and David Williams.
Visitation was held one hour prior to funeral services on Sunday at the funeral home.
Interment followed in the Friendship Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were John Hardwick, Kyle Hardwick, Kevin Hardwick, Tim Griffin, Greg Griffin and Michael Griffin.
