The Appling County Pirates (8-1-1 Overall, 6-1 Region 1-AAA) traveled to face the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets (4-6, 2-5) on Friday, November 9 with the Pirates winning the regular season finale 43-30.
The Pirates will be the second seed from Region 1-AAA and will host Region 4-AAA third seed Rockmart (5-5, 4-3) in the first round of the GHSA State Playoffs on Friday, November 16 at Jimmy Swain Stadium with the game scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.

Pirates Finish Regular Season with Win
In other Region 1-AAA playoff action top seed Pierce County (9-1, 7-0) will host fourth seed Central of Carroll (5-5, 4-3), third seed Johnson of Savannah (4-6, 4-3) will travel to second seed Chapel Hill (6-4, 5-2) and fourth seed Tattnall County (5-5, 4-3) with travel to top seed Callaway (9-1, 7-0).

The Yellow Jackets were the first to score on a six-yard touchdown run to make the score 0-7 with 2:59 remaining in the first quarter.
The Pirates first score came on a five-yard touchdown run by Vernon Dasher, Israel Jaramillo added the extra point to tie the score at 7-7 with 53 seconds left in the first quarter.
The Yellow Jackets retook the lead with a short field goal to make the score 7-10 with 1:22 remaining in the second quarter.

The Pirates final score came on a 76-yard touchdown run by Vann to make the score 43-16 with 9:19 remaining in the fourth quarter.
The Yellow Jackets added two touchdowns later in the fourth quarter to make the final score 43-30.
