Gail Woods Williams Taylor, 55, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, March 28, 2011. Gail was born in Toombs County, but had lived most of her life in Jeff Davis County. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Vera Mae Trull Woods. Mrs. Taylor was a LPN and was formerly employed by Dr. Ferrari, Dr. Teresa Cezar, Appling HealthCare and Sunbridge Nursing Home. She was a member of the Local Painters Union 1169. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Todd Taylor; son, Garrett Williams and siblings, Faye Woods Wilson, Jerry Woods, Doris Woods Rice and Teddy Woods.
Survivors include one daughter and fiancé, Ashley Williams and Allen Crawford of Hazlehurst; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth Woods Robertson of Jonesboro, Mary Woods Sikes (James) and Betty Woods Lively of Cobbtown; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Woods, Jimmy Woods (Diane) of Lyons, Tommy Woods (Wilma) of Metter and Charles Woods (Linda) of Cobbtown; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Mar. 30 from the chapel of Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst with the Rev. David Deen officiating. Burial followed in Omega Cemetery in Appling County.
Active pallbearers were Clay Woods, Jonathan Yawn, Dale McCrillis, Garrett Rowland, Ryan Williams and Steve Underwood.
Honorary pallbearers were Community Hospice of Vidalia.
Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.
