Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
Oct. 26, answered a call to Hundreds Road in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated someone had broken into her residence and stole her jewelry valued at approximately $2,425.00. Investigation continues.
Oct. 26, a routine traffic stop on East Allen Street resulted in a citation being issued to a juvenile driving without a license. The juvenile was released to grandmother.
Oct. 26, answered a call to Pickett Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that after his friend left his residence he found his wallet containing $300.00 was missing. Investigation continues.
Oct. 27, answered a call to Agnes Williams Road in reference to a juvenile problem. A mother and a son had a dispute and the son left the home without permission. The juvenile was found at his grandmother’s house. The Juvenile Justice was notified.
Oct. 27, answered a call to Halfmoon Lake in reference to a civil matter. The complainant stated a subject told him he had to pay to fish in Halfmoon Lake. The complainant stated he owns property joining the lake.
Oct. 27, answered a call to McCloud Circle in reference to threats. The complainant stated he went to a subject’s house to get his wife and was threatened.
Oct. 27, answered a call to Wayne Jones Road in reference to a theft by deception. A complainant stated she had an agreement with a subject to repair her vehicle if she bought the parts. The subject took parts and got a refund for the parts and has not fixed her vehicle.
Oct. 27, answered a call to Patterson Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated he heard several gun shots near his residence and later found a bullet had struck the driver side door of his vehicle.
Oct. 27, answered a call to John Lewis Lane in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant and an ex-husband had an altercation. The subject left the residence and was stopped driving on roadway by officer, which led to the arrest of Mauricio Chimal, 21, of Baxley. Chimal was charged with affray and driving without a license.
Oct. 28, answered a call to Old Surrency Road in reference to a domestic. The complainant stated she asked her friend to leave her residence with all her belongings and not return. An altercation occurred between the subjects. The offender left the residence before officer arrived.
Oct. 29, answered a call to Frost Industrial Blvd., in reference to a theft. The complainant stated unknown person(s) entered his shop and took two cutting saws and two batteries valued at approximately $500.00. Investigation continues.
Oct. 30, answered a call to Vonadore Lane in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant and husband had an altercation when she told him she wanted a divorce. Ramiro Solario, 33, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Oct. 31, answered a call to Green Briar Circle in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated unknown person(s) had gained entry into her home and took a PlayStation 3 Game System and eight games. Investigaton continues
Oct. 31, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report a forgery. The complainant stated her boyfriend had forged several checks on her. Investigation continues.
Nov.1 answered a call to Philippi Church Road in reference to entering an auto and theft. The complainant stated unknown person(s) had entered his auto and stole several items valued at approximately $400.00. Investigation continues.
