Elois C. Carter, 84, passed away Thursday, October 25, at the Pavilion under the care of Southern Care Hospice. She was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County, a homemaker and a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Carter and her parents, Eli and Edell Mincey Carter.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy G. Carter and wife Julie of Baxley; granddaughter, Christy Reese and husband Rodney of Baxley; grandson, Brian W. Carter and wife Sarah of Baxley; two great grandchildren, Mallie and Bentlee Reese of Baxley; three sisters, Ethel Beckworth of Baxley, Elaine Dollar of Baxley and Lucy Beckworth of Baxley and four brothers, Ernest Carter of Baxley, Edward Carter of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Ellis Carter of Baxley and Billy Carter of Baxley.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral service was held on Sunday, October 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the David E. Miles Funeral Home with the Reverend Rick Brown, the Reverend Charles Hutcheson and the Reverend Jerry Rogers officiating and music was provided by Floyd Hunter and David Williams.
Interment followed in the Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were her nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were the Naomi Sunday School Class of Woodlawn Baptist Church, the Deacons and their wives of Woodlawn Baptist Church, Southern Care Hospice staff and the Pavilion C-wing Nurses and staff.
