Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
Oct. 19, answered a call on Jekyll Road in reference to a burglary. Taken was a freezer from a utility building. Investigation continues.
Oct. 20, answered a call on Old Surrency Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The altercation was between a husband and a wife.
Oct. 20, answered a call on Wisteria Lane in reference to harassing phone calls. A complainant stated that she was tired of the harassment and the phone calls contained vulgar language.
Oct. 23, arrested in connection with a fraud that occurred in August 2012 was Nicole M. Webb, 29, of East Point. Webb was arrested and charged with criminal receipt of good/services fraudulently obtained two counts.
Oct. 24, answered a call on Yellow Pine Circle in reference to a disorderly individual. Upon arrival, officers found that the offender had been using curse words and began to fight with the complainant. Kenneth Sellers, 56, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Oct. 24, answered a call on Oliff Thornton Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The altercation was between a boyfriend and a girlfriend.
Oct. 25, answered a call on Prentiss Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The altercation was between a husband and a wife. The offender keeps calling and harassing the complainant.
Oct. 25, answered a call on Zoar Road in reference to a theft. Taken was a Ryan-Romney political sign.
Oct. 25, answered a call at Bell Smit Food Mart in reference to a forgery. The complainant at the convenience store stated that a subject came in to the store and cashed a payroll check that was stolen from Southern Earth Construction. Investigation led to the arrest of Derek Eston Murray, 30, of Baxley. Murray was charged with theft by taking and forgery in the first degree.
Oct. 25, answered a call on Piney Grove Church Road in reference to a theft. Taken was a payroll check. Investigation continues.
Oct. 26, answered a call on Piney Bluff Road in reference to a theft. Taken was 50 pounds of pecans and a Poulan pole saw. Investigation continues.
