2011 Baxley Idol singing competition to be held
Come one, come all to this year’s Baxley Idol singing competition. The event will be held at the Appling County Fine Arts Center on April 5 and 7 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. The competition for ages five through 14 will be held on April 5 and ages 15 and up and Group competition will be held on April 7. The group competition has been added this year in order to accommodate all of Appling County’s extraordinary duos, trios, etc.
The first place prize amount is $250.00, second place prize is $100.00 and third place prize is $50.00. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: Ages 5-14, Ages 15 and up, and Group.
The winners from each category will perform at the Baxley Tree Fest Street Dance before the Swinging Medallions take the stage at 8:00 p.m.
If you are interested in entering this year’s Baxley Idol competition, you may pick up an application form at the Baxley-Appling County Chamber of Commerce or download the form from www.baxleytreefest.com. Applicants must provide their own music on CD labeled with name and song selection. All applications and CDs are due by Friday, April 1st at the Baxley-Appling County Chamber of Commerce, 305 W. Parker St, Baxley.
There is no entry fee for competitors or for the audience.
We also invite the public to join us in the audience to support your favorite performers and cheer them on.
