Simmons and Thornton to wed
Mr. and Mrs. Rickey Hunter and Steve Simmons of Baxley, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Keely Suzette Simmons, to Tray Phillip Thornton.
The bride-elect is the maternal granddaughter of Bell Walker Nash and the late Vanlayer Walker of Baxley and the paternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Varnadore of Baxley.
Keely is a 2003 graduate of Appling County Comprehensive High School. She is a 2007 Cum Laude graduate of Valdosta State University, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing.
She is currently employed at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup as a Registered Nurse.
The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Thornton of Baxley. He is the paternal great-grandson of Selma Hix and the late Max Hix of Baxley; and the maternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Carter of Baxley.
Tray is a 2005 graduate of Appling County Comprehensive High School.
He is currently employed with Earl Industries of Portsmouth, VA as an Industrial Painter/Blaster Supervisor.
The wedding will take place April 9 at 5:00 p.m. at the Woody Folsom Lake Lodge in Baxley with a reception immediately following. No local invitations will be sent; all family and friends are invited to attend.
