Folsom reported to this newspaper that the group plans to keep the golf course open and make needed improvements to the course and facility. He stated that preliminary plans are to add a restaurant and improve the overall appearance of the grounds surrounding the course.
“I was unaware that the course was faltering until someone stopped by my office to see me about possibly buying the course outright,” said Folsom. “I knew for business and industrial recruiting purposes, it is important for our community to have a golf course. I also knew that our kids who participate in the sport need a local course to practice on.”
Folsom stated that he called J.W. and Jerome Murray and they agreed that the course is vital to the community. The trio realizes that the course is not going to be able to keep the doors open without the community’s support and they are asking the community to support the course.
