On the Eagles next offensive drive, Eagle quarterback Cole Livingston tossed the ball to running back Andrew Phillips and he passed the ball connecting with Beasley for a 45-yard passing touchdown. Andrew Phillips added the two-pointer and the score around the 3:30 mark in the first period was 14-0.
Early in the second period Andrew Phillips scored on a 28-yard scamper. The two-point attempt was no good and the score was 20-0.
After a turnover on downs at their own 18, the mighty Eagles easily found the end zone again as Andrew Phillips punched the ball in from 11-yards out. Quarterback Livingston connected with receiver Cameron Carter for the two-point conversion. The score with 8:21 remaining in the second was 28-0.
Faith would take the ensuing kick and return it to their own 31. The Eagle defense forced the Crusaders to fumble and Andrew Phillips scooped the ball up and darted 20 yards for another Eagle touchdown. Livingston connected with receiver Zach Carter for the two-pointer and the score at the 7:13 mark was 36-0.
Later in the second period Livingston went to the air again this time connecting with Andrew Phillips on a 33-yard touchdown pass. Tough fullback Daniel Beasley added the two-point conversion and the score with 4:13 remaining before the halftime break was 42-0.
The Eagles would again find pay dirt with 44 seconds remaining before halftime. Eagle running back John McLemore capped a 54-yard drive scoring with a three-yard touchdown run and he also added the two-point conversion making the score 52-0 at the break.
During halftime, Appling Christian mini-cheerleading clinic participates did an outstanding job entertaining the large audience at Eagle Field.
After halftime the teams agreed to let the clock run (mercy rule). The only score in the second half of play came near the end of the third period.
Eagle runner John McLemore got the call again from Head Coach Keith Wiggins and he scored from seven yards out. Quarterback Livingston tucked the ball in his arms and added the two-point conversion making the score 60-0.
The Eagles will be on the road this week traveling to face a tough opponent in the Augusta Eagles.
The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. The next home game for the Eagles will be on September 21 against Abundant Life, of Hardeewille, South Carolina. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Eagle Field.
