Bridgett V. Powers (husband, Joshuah Powers) of Blackshear and James Miller (wife, Erin Miller), of St. Marys are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kailey Bernice Syltevik to Thomas Allen Newsome, Jr.
The bride-elect is the maternal granddaughter of the late Diana S. Vick and Larry H. Vick Sr. (wife, Geraldine) of Blackshear. She is the paternal granddaughter of Patricia and Burr Miller of Waycross.
Kailey is a 2004 Ware County High school Graduate. She graduated from Okefenokee Technical College in 2010 for Phlebotomy and was named on the academic achievement list of 2010. She is currently employed in facility operations at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross.
The groom-elect is the son of Joyce N. Screws (late husband, James Screws) and Thomas Allen Newsome, Sr., both of Waycross. He is the maternal grandson of the late Lucille S. and Bascom C. Worley of Waycross. He is the paternal grandson of the late Mary K. and Earl Newsome of Baxley.
Allen is a 2000 Brantley County High school graduate. He graduated from Okefenokee Technical College in 2010 for Computer Technician Preparation. He is currently employed as an executive assistant at Halloween City and part time Clerk at Harveys in Waycross.
The wedding will take place on October 20, at Patterson Baptist Church, in Patterson. A reception will follow at the Eagle Station, also in Patterson. All out of town guests will receive an invitation but the bride and groom encourage all other family members and close friends to attend!
