Dear Editor,
The Appling County School System experienced an array of events last week. During these times the following personnel were available to assist Appling County Schools: Chief Godrey and the Baxley Police Department; Sheriff Benny Deloach and the Sheriff’s Department; the Georgia State Patrol; and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.
System appreciates law enforcement
Superintendent Scarlett Copeland reported the support received from our law enforcement was outstanding and that each one went above and beyond to serve. Officers were available each day at the schools and especially at the high school. Numerous parents and community members have also commented how grateful they were to have law enforcement on hand during this week. All agencies worked well together to resolve this issue at the high school as expediently as possible. Again, our hats are off to all officials of law enforcement who are indeed there to serve.
