Principal Brenda R. Harvey and the Appling County Primary School faculty and staff would like to introduce the 2011 Miss Primateer and her court. The winners are fourth runner up-Abigail Hernandez, second runner up-Melana Cauley, winner Miss Primateer-Natalee Carter, first runner up-Allie Simmons, third runner up-Olivia White.

Natalee is the daughter of Keven and Pam Carter. The ACPS PTO would like to thank all the beautiful young ladies that participated. We would also like to extend appreciation to all parents, teachers, and community members that helped make this year’s pageant such a big success.

I don't think its really the little girls thats wanting to be involved in pageant...but I believe its some mothers that dragging them into this stuff! Only because they would like to relive their dreams through their children! Girls that age should be doing things that NORMAL kids do! You can build up your kids self confidence by telling them that you love them or that they are beautiful BEFORE they put on make-up or $100 dresses....just my opinion and i'm sticking to it!!

I would just like to say that each one of these beautiful girls was in a school-sponsored beauty pageant. This is a fundraiser that the Primary School sponsors to raise money to further provide for their students. As a mother of one of these beautiful girls (both inside and out), I can say that I would never force my child to be in a pageant. I can speak for some of the other mothers of these girls and can tell you that the girls are the ones who want to do the pageant, and it is us mothers that are nervous and would rather them not do it. Unless these are YOUR children, don't pass judgment. You don't know our children, and you certainly don't know us as parents.

In a beauty contest little girls are being judged mostly by a certain criteria of an external means. What about all the other little girls in the pageant that didn’t win or get selected by the judges? A beauty pageant for little girls is one that can have serious consequences. This could have potential to enhance poor self-esteem and body image problems in little girls.
Parents should step in and be parents, what does a little girl know? You say she wants to be in pageants. They are too young to understand the ramifications of beauty pageants. Schools are in it for the money – pageants bring in a lot of money.
Beauty from the inside is far more appealing and worth more than the looks on the outside.
They don’t even look like little girls with all that makeup on.

i'm not passing judgement miss. i'm only giving my opinion. you and the other moms may be outstanding parents, but i personally believe putting makeup on little girls in pageants is ridiulous! They look like miniature clowns with all of that makeup on! Why not just dress them in a fancy dress with some jewelry on? would that hurt your fund raising? there is too much happening in this world today for you all to dress your children in a way that would attrack a sex offender. could you live with that? i have no more to say. may God bless you to open your eyes.

REALLY? I am so astounded that this is all you have to worry about...Come on LET THE LITTLE PRINCESSES ENJOY THEIR TIME IN THE SPOTLIGHT. Apparently, you have nothing else to do. This is really none of your business, so back off!!!!(By the way...you may want to get someone to proofread your misguided comments the next time.) What is the big deal? Beauty pageants have always been around and whether you agree or not...they are probably not going away!!!

Jealousy is a symptom of a severe case of low self-esteem, and it’s a disease that can eat you alive. That's why jealous people are often angry. Please don't be angry and post comments on these little girls. They are not yours!! However, it sounds like some of you are wishing they were because it sounds like you are jealous of these little girls because no other pageant is getting comments like this. MOVE ON AND GET OVER IT!! THE PAGEANT IS OVER!!
