Anthony Cook, Area Engineer
New leadership in DOT Baxley area office reported
Georgia Department of Transportation District Engineer, Karon Ivery is proud to announce the appointment of Anthony Cook to the position of Area Engineer serving Appling, Jeff Davis, Montgomery, Telfair and Wheeler counties.
Cook will be responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of all state routes in Appling, Jeff Davis, Montgomery, Telfair and Wheeler counties for the Jesup District.
After serving ten years in the military, Cook began his career at DOT in 1989 as an equipment operator in maintenance. He transferred into construction in 1991 and served in the Baxley Area office as a project manager then moved up to District Earthworks Coordinator. Cook became the District Estimator and then promoted to District Estimator Liaison working through the General Office in Atlanta.
“Cook represents one of the many human assets of the Georgia Department of Transportation and especially District-V. He brings a wealth of experience needed in serving the cities, counties and communities he will oversee in Southeast Georgia.
