Baxley Lions Member Varnadoe receives International Award

Lions National Director Dick Sawyer, from Arizona, attended the recent Georgia Lions District 18-B Convention in Port Wentworth. He presented several awards to leading Georgia Lions. Among the three recipients of the highest honor, the Beacon Of Hope award was Baxley Lion Larry Varnadoe.

Lions Clubs International president Sid L. Scruggs III signed this award. Lions Clubs International’s core project is vision and hearing conservation. Visually impaired himself, Lion Varnadoe has shown great leadership in the organization. He served twice as president of the Tifton Lions Club before moving to Baxley. He is now completing his second term as President of the Baxley Lions Club. He also serves as Zone Director for four neighboring Lions Clubs. The Baxley Lions Club congratulates Lion Larry Varnadoe and thanks him for his consistent inspirational leadership.

The Baxley Lions meet the first and third Monday evenings at 6:00 in the Lions Clubhouse across from the Fairgrounds. Dinner is served. Guests are welcome. The Lions Motto is: We Serve.
