On Tuesday, July 31, Appling County Sheriff Benny Deloach reported that arrest warrants had been issued in the shooting incident that occurred at the WE WE Club early Sunday morning, July 29. Three people were shot at the club and were transported to various hospitals for treatment of injuries.
On July 31 Chandler Romalice Byrd, age 42, of Baxley, was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, one count of discharge of firearm on or near a public highway and one count of reckless conduct.
On Thursday, August 2, Deloach announced that Shamarcus Jameal Carr, age 23, of Jesup, was arrested August 1 also in connection with the shooting that occurred at the We We Club. Carr was charged with two counts aggravated assault, possession of a firearm while trying to commit crimes, reckless conduct, theft by receiving stolen property, and discharging a firearm on or near a public road.
Bond was set for Byrd at $102,500.00. Bond was set for Carr at $126,600.00. Both are currently out on bond.
