To support or not to support…that is the question
There are varying opinions on the state’s attempt to let Regional Commission Districts across Georgia collect a regional Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (also known as The Transportation Act of 2010 or T-SPLOST) for transportation projects. Some support the measure and some oppose. Ultimately the voters in each region across the state will decide.

Questions still remain in regards to how does Appling fare in comparison to the other counties in the area. The main concern is why does the monies collected for Appling County have to fund the replacement of a bridge on a Federal Road US#1. This bridge should be replaced by federal funds not local. I assume that Toombs County would fund an equal share. Also, as you have stated the landowners and home owners cannot continue to fund the required maintenance and up keep of all of these special projects funded by SPLOST monies. The state and county must look for ways to reduce this burden or the people must start rejecting any SPLOST additions.
