Marlene A. Buffkin, 75, of Pooler, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. Marlene was born April 13, 1937 in Appling County to the late Ernest and Dicey Tillman Edwards. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Buffkin was a retired secretary for Baxley Veneer and Cleat.
Survivors include her husband, Rembert Buffkin of Manchester, VT; three daughters, Pam (James) Barker of Pooler, Kim (Mike) Albert and Pat (Yancey) Carter, all of Manchester, VT; one sister, JoAnne Eason of Surrency; three brothers, Reggie Edwards of Surrency, Olvid Edwards of Guyton and Dwain Edwards of Pooler; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survives.
Funeral services for Marlene Buffkin were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 5 at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Derek Hobbs officiating. Interment followed in church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Reggie Edwards, Scott Edwards, Louis Eason, Steve Craven, Greg Mann and Ronnie Hunter.
Musical selections were rendered by Vic Brantley, Kim Hall and Samantha Carter.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
