Minnie Elizabeth Scarborough
Minnie Elizabeth Scarborough, 92, died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at a Jacksonville, Florida hospital. A native of Baxley, she has resided in Jacksonville since 1949. Mrs. Scarborough was a member of Highlands Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Frank Scarborough and her daughter, Lanita King.
Survivors include her three children, Edna (Pete) Andrews, Wayne T. (Roberta) Scarborough, Sr. and Leon (Marguerite) Scarborough; two sisters, Pauline Baxley and Barbara Ann (Dave) Arnold; three brothers, Hollis (Jane) Crummey, Rev. Charles (Betty) Crummey and Gerald (Helen) Crummey; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26 at Peeples Family Funeral Homes, North Jacksonville Chapel, 2220 Soutel Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32208 with Dr. Winson Butler and Dr. Art Taylor officiating.
