The Moody family was one of the pioneer families to settle in what is now Wayne and Appling Counties.
On Sunday, June 24, the descendents of Isaac Ailey Moody III will hold their annual Moody reunion at the Wayne County Recreation Center in Jesup.
Moody, who was born in 1871, was a well-known businessman in the Odum/Brentwood area and at the time of his death in 1931 he was serving as Chairman of the Wayne County Commissioners.
His descendents include 15 children (all deceased), as well as 39 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, 101 great-great-grandchildren and 35 great-great-great-grandchildren, many of whom live in South Georgia.
Doors will open at 11:00 a.m. for visiting. Family members and friends are asked to bring a covered dish and beverage for lunch, which will begin at 12:30 p.m. Papergoods and ice will be furnished.
