Hilton White, 86, of Alston, died Friday, June 8, 2012 in the Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia. White was born May 21, 1926 in Jeff Davis County, to the late Rowland Y. White and the late Lillie Creamer White, and had resided in Macon until moving to Alston when he retired 13 years ago. He was the owner and operator of White Tire City in Warner Robbins for many years. White was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jewell White of Alston; daughter and son-in-law, P. J. and Rick Turner of Corinth, TX; granddaughter, Caroline Turner and grandson, Bryce Turner, both of Corinth, TX; also two other grandsons, Kirby Videtto of Macon and Joseph Videtto of Moultrie; one sister, Mate Mundy of Griffin; one brother, Paul White of Hazlehurst and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 10 at David E. Miles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Max Newham officiating. Eulogy given by John Frazier. Interment followed in Bridgefore Church of God Cemetery in Jeff Davis County with military rites.
Active pallbearers were Ches Spell, Rick Turner, John Youngblood, Mike Carter, Walt Swain and Shawn Carter.
Musical selections were rendered by Jeffery Spell.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
