Miss Lindsey Johnson is Appling Christian Academy’s 2012 salutatorian. She is the daughter of Zachary and Deborah Johnson. Lindsey is a member of the Southside Baptist Church and the Southside youth group. She has attended ACA since seventh grade. Lindsey was home-schooled by her parents before coming to ACA.
She has received numerous academic honors and recognitions including being named the A Honor Roll for all four of her high school years. In addition, Lindsey has received the highest academic subject award in several different subjects. She has been recognized as top academic student in every year of her high school career and has maintained a 4.0 GPA in her academic high school career. Lindsey was a member of the Georgia Association of Christian Schools Honor Society where she served as vice-president and treasurer. She worked with Operation Christmas Child Ministries in preparing Christmas shoebox gifts for children living in impoverished areas. In addition, Lindsey worked through the school’s local honor society’s organization in a special Thanksgiving food drive distribution to a number of families in the community. She participated as a senior helper with the school’s pre-k students in their St. Jude’s Trike-a-Thon.
In addition to being class salutatorian, Lindsey was chosen by her peers to receive the following high school superlative recognitions: Most Talented, Most Diligent, and Most Athletic.
Lindsey’s community activities include working through her church’s youth ministry in the Savannah homeless mission, serving at the senior citizen banquet, helping with preparations for mission trips and working in Vacation Bible School. She has, also, helped with gift distribution at the Magnolia House.
She has been very active in athletics at ACA where she has won numerous awards in volleyball, basketball and softball. Lindsey has been named to three GCAA All-State teams and two All-Tournament teams. She was named GCAA MVP in three different competitive sports.
Lindsey plans to attend Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida.
