Relay raises needed funds for cancer research

The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life kicked off Friday, May 4, and continued into Saturday morning with the honorary first lap led by cancer survivors.

Hundreds in the community, including “hippies” shown on the left in their attire to go along with the theme ‘Grooving Into The 70’s For a Cure’, turned out for the event to show their support for the worthy cause. Many events took place throughout the night ranging from talent performances to the Luminary Ceremony to remember those who lost their battle with Cancer. The attendees did exactly as the Cancer Society’s motto says: Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back.
