In the dark of night, around 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, firemen were dispatched to Graham City Hall for a fire. On arrival fire personnel discovered the public building was being destroyed by the blaze and promptly got the flames under control. On Wednesday morning there were a number of agencies responding to the scene including the Appling County Sheriff’s Department, Georgia Fire Marshal’s office, and Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
On Monday, April 23 The News-Banner learned that the fire has officially been ruled arson. The Fire Marshal’s office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are offering a reward of $10,000.00 for the arrest and conviction of the person (or persons) responsible. The Graham City Council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at the Graham Fire Station on Thursday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
