Dear Editor,
On behalf of Baxley-Appling County Tourism, I want to thank the vendors who participated in and made Peaches To The Beaches a success. Without vendor support, the Board would not be able to advertise in newspapers, radio, magazines, and other forms of media. A big thank you goes out to Steve Rigdon our Town Mayor, City Manager Jeff Baxley, County Manager Lee Lewis, and County and City employees, Appling County Sheriff’s Department, Appling County Recreation Department, AC EMA, AC EMS, Baxley Public Works Dept., and the Baxley Police Dept.
Board of Tourism thanks community
Our “2012 Peaches To The Beaches “ event was the largest to date. Over 102 vending spaces were sold and thousands of people visited our area for hidden treasures and great food. Without a doubt this event helped boost tourism and brought visitors to our community. Tourism is a vital part of helping businesses, motels, and restaurants grow our economy. Visitors from all over were shown a community that pulled together in support of their hometown with an event that showcased a town full of vitality and a place where visitors are welcomed with open arms.
In the future, we hope those who were not affiliated as an official vendor will consider participating in the future in order to make this event even more successful.
Baxley-Appling County Tourism is a vital tool in growing our economy. Again, for helping Baxley become a Better Hometown Community, the Baxley-Appling County Board of Tourism says, Thank you.
