Gary “Bubba” Herrington, 55, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at his residence. Bubba was born Oct. 6, 1956 in Appling County and had resided here all of his life. He was a retired saw operator and had been employed with Baxley Veneer and Cleat. Herrington was a member of Miles Chapel. He was the son of the late Jack D. Herrington and Wanell Meeks Herrington. In addition to his father, Bubba was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Herrington and two brothers, Dennis and Dale Herrington.
Survivors include is wife, Tina Herrington of Baxley; his mother, Wanelle Meeks Herrington of Baxley; a son and daughter-in-law, Todd Herrington and wife, Jeanie of Nicholls; two step-daughters, Jessica Wigley and Haley Wigley, both of Baxley; two sisters, Janet Herrington of Baxley and Edith Herrington of Baxley; one brother, Stevie Herrington of Baxley; and four grandchildren, Collin, Autumn, Analee and Tristan also survive.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. at Big Oaks Church of God with the Rev. Mark Grimes officiating. Interment followed in Miles Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Alan Larsen, Kim Herrington, Donnie Herrington, James A. Herrington, Sonny Faulk, Dusty Larsen, Marshall Tompkins and H. B. Orvin.
Honorary pallbearers were staff of Southern Care Hospice, Dr. Singh and staff, Lewis Cancer and Research Center and all friends in attendance.
Musical selections were rendered by Big Oaks Church of God Choir.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
