The Pirates other upcoming games include traveling to Brantley County (7-4, 3-2) on Tuesday, March 27 and hosting Vidalia (3-10, 2-3) on Thursday, March 29 with both games scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.

The Pirates reach the half way mark in the regular season with a perfect record of 13-0 after beating MCA. Mathew Shumans got the win on the mound in his first start of the season.
Junior Cole Simmons pitched the fourth and fifth innings allowing only one run. Kyle Miller led the way at the plate with a three for three night including a solo homerun. Devin Causey added two hits of his own.
The Pirates go on the road to Statesboro Saturday to take on the Blue Devils at 2pm.
-Appling Pirates Take Eight Innings to Beat Wayne
The Pirates battled the Wayne County Yellow Jackets in a non-region contest Monday night. The Pirates prevailed 8-7 in eight innings.
Byron Buxton singled to start the game. Jeremy Ammons walked. After two out, Devin Causey plated two runs with a solid single to right field.
The Pirates would put Byron Buxton on the mound to face the region 2AAAA foe. Buxton pitched out of a jam in the first allowing one hit and one walk but no runs.
The Jackets tied the game at two in the bottom of the third on three hits and a Pirate error. The Pirates opened up a 6-2 lead in the top of the fifth. Gage Patton led off with a single. Justin Javis singled. Buxton advanced both runners on a fly ball to the outfield.
Jeremy Ammons delivered a one-out double to plate Patton and Javis. An infield hit by Josh Barber put two on with one out. Kyle Miller lined a ball through the Jacket infield for a RBI single to plate Ammons. Barber would later score on an error.
The Pirate defense was a little shaky in the bottom half of the fifth allowing the Jackets to close the gap to 6-5 after five innings. The Pirates added a single run in the sixth to make the score 6-5.
The Jackets were shut down in the sixth by three consecutive strikeouts by Pirate reliever Jeremy Ammons.
The Jackets tied the game on a bases loaded single in the bottom of the seventh to move the game to extra innings. The Pirates would get their leadoff man on in the eighth only to be erased on a double play.
Byron Buxton was walked with two outs. Jeremy Ammons lined a ball just inside the line in right field for a triple to push Buxton across for the go-ahead run 8-7. Ammons shut down the Jackets in the eighth. A great play by Gage Patton on slow roller to third ended the game.
