It ain’t funny!
I try to keep humor in most of my stories but sometimes it’s hard to do. Often the condition of our country occupies all my thinking and I can find no humor in it. This is one of those days.
Just to set you straight, I respect the office of the President of the United States. It is an awesome responsibility. I respect the one holding that office if they deserve it. Accordingly, it is President Borat from here on unless he apologizes to the Marine Corps. When I heard our President, a supposed graduate of Harvard and a Columbia Law professor, making a speech and referring to the Marine Corps as the Marine CORPSE, three times in the same speech, I knew he was a phony.
Mrs. Bailey, my 5th grade teacher at Hebron Elementary in the middle of the piney woods, taught me it was pronounced Marine CORE, that the p and s were silent. If Obama graduated from Harvard it was a gift given simply because of his race, not his ability; in my humble opinion, at least.
For God’s sake! He is the commander in chief! He can send our Marines into harm’s way and make real corpses out of them. The least he could do is show some respect for them and pronounce their name properly. It’s a darn good thing he is not a republican or we would be hearing about it on the news until doomsday.
President Borat Obama is claiming victory next fall and it might just happen because we undoubtedly have the most ill informed electorate on earth. Far too many people have no idea what our liberty means, where it came from, and at what cost. It was not free. It was paid for in blood and I am afraid if we are to keep it, as Thomas Jefferson warned, more blood may be required. Lord God, I hope not! How did we get here?
I think we began the road to slavery many years ago, in the mid 60’s when the Department of Education in Washington started telling us how to run our local schools. In the chaos of integration, the enemies of freedom and individual liberty saw the perfect opportunity and ever since then public education has been about one thing; dumbing down our children, and all this in spite of the best efforts of many dedicated teachers to do otherwise.
Now the overwhelming majority of our children nationwide that actually graduate high school, graduate completely ignorant of the Constitution and U.S. history, doomed to believe the silver tongued orator who promises easy street; doomed to give up their precious liberty in exchange for a government check or some other form of security the government confiscates from someone else.
And while I am at it let me make this bold statement; if President Borat Obama, aided and abetted by the Democrats in the U.S. Senate and a few Republicans, is allowed to place one more left wing socialist on the Supreme Court, the Second Amendment will be history.
It is at that point that we will find out what Americas future is to be, for at that point either the patriots will rise up in open armed rebellion and fight for their liberties guaranteed under the Constitution or else they will, like millions of brain dead slaves on the government dole have already done, meekly file past, lay down their arms, and surrender their liberty forever.
I’m sorry. I just can’t find anything funny to say right now.

I usually think I am wasting my time reading your articles. (I also think I waste my time reading another writer's column about his travels and his appetite!)
