Lady Pirates and Pirates qualify for State Playoffs

The Appling County Lady Pirate and Pirate basketball teams have qualified for the AA State Playoffs with wins in the Region 2AA tournament on Thursday, February 16. The win also advances both teams to the final four in the tournament.


The Lady Pirates defeated Brantley County 59-46 and will play top seeded Jeff Davis County on Friday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m.

The Pirates defeated Tattnall County 67-63 and will play number two seeded Long County on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

The games will be held on the Brewton-Parker College campus in Mt. Vernon.
