David Murray
David Murray, 73, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 in Appling Healthcare System. David was born March 10, 1938 in Appling County to the late Otis Eston Murray and the late Adell Eliza Campbell Murray. He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Ett Murray of Baxley; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Anne Murray of Baxley; one grandson, Derek Murray of Baxley; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Nails of Baxley; five brothers, Freddy Murray of Surrency, J. W. Murray, George Murray, both of Baxley, Curtis Murray of Auburndale, FL and Roy Murray of Sparta; and his faithful pet, Rattler.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1 in the Swain Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Carlton Rowell and Barry Teutsch officiating. Interment followed in Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jeffery Murray, Larry Murray, Jerome Murray, Greg Murray, Winton Branch and Mickey Craven.
Honorary pallbearers were all friends in attendance.
Musical selections were rendered by the Rev. Carlton Rowell.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
