Head Start announces Pre-School Recruitment Event
If you have a child that will be three or four by September 1, you are invited to complete an application for your child for free pre-school services. Services include the federally funded Head Start Program, operated by Concerted Services, Inc., and families must be income eligible.
The recruitment event will be held on Tuesday, February 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Appling County Head Start Center, 389 E. Allen Street, Baxley. Free transition packs with the book, “Clifford’s First School Day” will be given out on a first come, first serve basis (while supplies last).Head Start services include: free breakfast, lunch and snack, individualized education, speech and hearing screening; dental and health screening; field trips; social services; parent involvement; parent education assistance; and special services.
