Rickey Jackson was born Oct. 12, 1961 and departed this life on Jan. 8, 2012. He attended Jeff Davis County Public Schools. Rickey was employed with Sapp Ford for many years. He was the eleventh child of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. B. (Flora) Jackson. Rickey was always laughing and joking and most of all a spiritual advisor. A devoted, caring and loving husband for 30 years and father.
Survivors include his loving wife, Melissa Jackson of Baxley; six children: Kendralia Preston (Kyle) of Douglas, Shatasha Jackson of Baxley, Jamarcus Rolax of Douglas, Aiyesha Jackson (Jerry) of Baxley, Charlotte Jackson (Byron) of Baxley and Rickey Jackson (Sarah) of Baxley; step-mother, Dorothy Jackson of Vidalia; father-in-law, Robert Pace of Jacksonville, FL; mother-in-law, Nellie Pace of Jacksonville, FL; four sisters, Peggy Pierce (Donald) of Hazlehurst; Linda Jackson of Baxley, Billie Cooper of Douglas and Minnie Stripling (Gregory) of Atlanta; five brothers, Bishop John L. Jackson (Billie) of Baxley, L. B. Jackson of Hazlehurst, Tommy Jackson (Linda) of Hazlehurst, Mickey Jackson (Karen) of Douglas and Dano Jackson of Douglas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also very special friends, Lamar and Becky Hutto.
Funeral services for Rickey Jackson were held at 3:00 p.m. Jan. 14 at King Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Hazlehurst. Interment followed in Morgan Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Graham.
Active pallbearers were Jerry Johnson, Byron Carter, Debron Bell, Moses Shaw, William Bolliel and Mike Carter.
Honorary pallbearers were all his loving grandchildren and Hospice of South Georgia Inc.
Musical selections were rendered by Peggy Fletcher.
