Edwin “Nig” Lamb
Edwin “Nig” Lamb, 82, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012. Lamb was born Sept. 22, 1929 in Appling County to the late Alonzo Lamb and the late Leona Davis Lamb. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 53 years. Lamb was a former member of the Appling County Hospital Authority.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Baxley Lamb of Baxley; one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Edwin L. and Sara Lamb of Valdosta and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15 at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Williamson officiating. Eulogies were given by David Barber and Patsy Godley. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Mike Lamb, Dennis Lamb, Blake Jones, Brian Murray, Earl Eason and Dean Collins.
Honorary pallbearers were Zion Baptist Church Deacons and Men’s Sunday-School Class.
Musical selections were rendered by Floyd Hunter and David Williams.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
