The Appling County Pirate basketball team (9-8 overall, 4-7 Region 2AA) started the week hosting the Tattnall County Battle Creek Warriors (10-9, 8-3) on Tuesday, January 17 but were not able to pick up the win losing 63-74.
The Pirates second contest of the week would have the Pirates hosting the number two ranked Vidalia Indians (18-2, 11-1) with the Pirates losing 53-77.

Pirates lose two at home
The Pirates will be hosting the Pierce County Bears (1-15, 0-9) on Friday, January 27.
This will be the first matchup between the two teams this season.
The Pirates will be traveling to face the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (7-12, 6-5) on Saturday, January 28. The Pirates won the first matchup between the two teams 70-62 on January 6.
The games are scheduled to begin after the Lady Pirate contests which start at 6:00 p.m.
