The varsity girls (10-0) and the varsity boys (8-2) improved their season records with wins over Peoples Baptist Academy out of McDonough. On the road, January 6, the Lady Eagles outscored their opponent 56-20. Leading scorers for the ACA team were Christian Beasley (14) and Victoria Cox (12). Lindsey Johnson led all rebounders with 17.
On January 10, the teams squared off for a second time this year. As before, the Lady Eagles were victorious with a 47-10 score. Christin Beasley and Lindsey Jonson led the scoring with 19 and 12 points, respectively. Lindsey Johnson dominated the boards with 11 rebounds.
The varsity boys won their two games over Peoples by scores of 55-37 and 57-40. In the first encounter, Bryce Livingston (14), Brandon Horton (11), and Rex Cox (10) led all scorers. In the second contest, Brandon Cox and Rex Cox led the varsity team with 13 points each. Brandon Horton continued as the rebound leader with a total of 23 rebounds over the two game span.
Appling Christian’s JV girls increased their winning record to 9-0 after two wins over the Peoples JV Knights. The JV boys dropped to a record of 4-5 for the season. Bethany Rivers (14), Alyssa Livingston (11), Lauren Beasley (10), Cole Livingston (20), and Wyatt Nail (13) led the scoring for the Eagles in their recent games against region opponent Peoples Baptist Academy.
Bethany Rivers and Cole Livingston were named JV players of the week.
