The 2012 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee will be announced at the Baxley-Appling County Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting Tuesday, Jan. 31. The Hall of Fame is housed at the Appling County Recreation Department.
The individual must be a present or previous resident of Appling County who has greatly influenced athletics on a local, state, regional or national level. He or she must be an accomplished athlete. The inductee must be retired for a period of two years from his/her active sport. He or she may be a participant in a life-long sport, such as bowling or golf. The inductee may be living or deceased. The nomination letters of prospective athletes should have as much documentation as possible about the athlete.

I MR BARNEY WHO PLAYED ON THAT 1982 TEAM THAT WENT 22-3 AND WAS RANKED NUBER 2 IN THE STATE AND WAS COACHED BY WILLIAM ALDERMAN SHOULD BE PUT IN THE HALL OF FAME.IF I RECALL THAT RANKING WAS THE HIGHEST AT THE TEAM THAT ANY MENS BASKET BALL TEAM HAD RECEIVED.
