Emma Wells Kidd
Emma Wells Kidd, 89, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011 at the Pavilion in Baxley. Ms. Kidd was born July 4, 1922 in Madison County and had resided in Baxley for the past 33 years. She was retired from the Georgia Baptist Children Home where she was employed as a group leader. Emma was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Kidd. She was the daughter of the late Nathan Wells and the late Maude Lowery Wells.
She is survived by a daughter, Laura Sue Dismuke of Lyons; three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Melodia Kidd of Modesto, CA, John and Connie Kidd of Offerman and Harold and Jane Kidd of Reidsville; three sisters, Ina Mae Payne, Nathie May Williamson and Betty Williamson, all of Florida; three brothers, Preston Wells, Marvin Wells and Bobby Joe Wells of Florida and Georgia; eleven grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21 in the chapel of David E. Miles Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Teutsch officiating. Interment followed in Glennville City Cemetery in Tattnall County.
Active pallbearers were Jeffery Kidd, Danny Dismuke, Allen Kidd, Kenny Hunter, Ed Hartley and Bobby Blizzard.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
